Current COVID Procedures

Term 4

We look forward to returning to classes for Term 4 at Milton and Clayfield from Monday 5th October. Premier Dance will continue to abide by the Stage 3 procedures of the Industry COVID Safe Plan for Dance and Physical Performing Arts, which was put together by our peak industry body, Ausdance, and approved by the Queensland Chief Health Officer.

By doing our part, we hope to avoid further closures and restrictions in QLD so that we can keep dancing and singing, which is so essential for maintaining healthy minds and bodies. Above all, it is vital for the safety of our students, staff and their families that we are all diligent with these procedures. Below are the vital steps that we need all families to follow when attending classes at our studios during Stage 3 restrictions:

Things to remember: (MILTON)

  • Our industry COVID Safe Plan now requires 2m2 per person however the generous sizing of our studios generally allows for a minimum of 4m2 per person, even in our largest classes.

  • Students aged 6 & under, plus trialling or new students: Parents may come up to drop off & pick up. Viewing windows will be open but waiting rooms have limited numbers which will be signed. We encourage parents to continue to wait outside our premises where possible. If you choose to stay in the waiting room, please follow floor markings and general social distancing (1.5m). Be considerate of others who may want to observe their child and take turns at the viewing window. There will be no seating in the waiting rooms.

  • Students aged 7 & up: Upon arrival to the centre, please wait outside the Premier Dance entrances and students only come upstairs at class start time with a staff member after we have released the class prior. Please bring a large towel to use for floor work.

  • Monday - Friday morning classes should all use the Main Entry door on the ground floor.

  • All afternoon & Saturday classes use allocated entry/exit points:

    • Studio 1, 2 & 3 - Main Entry door on ground floor

    • Studio 4 & 5 - Middle Entry via lift lobby on upper floor

  • Where possible before and after class, please use the Milton Village toilets behind the building and on the upper floor near the orthodontist. During class students will have access to our Premier Dance toilets with younger students assisted by staff if parents are not present. Older students using public transport to travel to classes from school may have access to Premier Dance toilets before class.

  • Please change at home/school/in the car and arrive fully dressed for class. Students will take their bags into the studio to change into their dance shoes.

  • No drinking cups or water will be available so please pack a full drink bottle for your child.

  • All persons must use hand sanitiser upon entry to Premier Dance premises. We have supplied dispensers on the walls at all entrances plus there is extra available in the studios.

  • Please talk to your child about these procedures and encourage them to ask Premier Dance staff for help if they need it at any time

We will continue with regular sanitisation practices throughout our premises including cleaning & disinfecting of door handles, barres, equipment, bathroom facilities and other high-touch surfaces, minimising use of props and person-person contact, plus twice weekly professional cleaning.
