RAD Advanced Foundation Exam 2022

We would like to invite your child to take part in a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examination for Advanced Foundation in August this year. Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams are marked by an RAD guest examiner. The expectation at this level is high and students need to be fully committed to their preparation to receive a successful result. The examination reports are processed in London and can take up to 6 weeks to arrive after the date of the exam.

 

Assessments are optional: If you choose not to enter, your child’s progress WILL NOT be affected. Pointe work must be performed in an RAD examination at this level.

 

Commitment: Students wishing to participate in the Advanced Foundation Exam must commit to full attendance at their regular class during Term 2 and 3. They will also be required to attend three compulsory two-hour workshops:

 

• Sunday 17th July

• Sunday 24th July

• Sunday 31st July

 

Times will be allocated once we have received all entries. We strongly recommend your child also attends the R.A.D Winter School on 4th – 9th July. More information to come.

 

The RAD allocates dates and times for examinations once all entries have been received. We will notify students as soon as we are advised of their examination date. The session will start on approximately 1st August and will be held during school time at Kick Dance Studio, Morningside. Please advise us of any impossible dates during this period (e.g., school camp, NAPLAN etc.).

 

Requirements: Uniform is compulsory. Students must wear a Black leotard & ballet tights. Flat canvas ballet shoes with elastics. Pointe shoes for pointe work. Grooming and presentation is also assessed; no earrings, makeup or nail polish can be worn, and hair must be in a neat ballet bun with the RAD regulation ribbon available at our office. Students performing Variation 2 will require a Navy skirt. Students performing Variation 1 will be required to hire a tutu. Uniform ordering information to come.
