2019 Charity Concert
Since 2008, students at The Premier Dance Academy have prepared and performed an entertaining variety concert annually to raise money for charity. Partnering with their sister school from Kenmore, Sayers Dance Centre, the Charity Concert has supported Mater Little Miracles and Youngcare by raising much needed funds for two organisations.
The 2019 Charity Concert, held on Sunday 16th June at the Performing Arts Centre of St Peter’s Lutheran College, raised over $22 000 for Mater Little Miracles and Youngcare. This included all proceeds from ticket sales as well as their famous raffle draw, with over 50 prizes donated by local families and businesses including Milton’s own The Fishery, Blade Hair, Heart Thai Food, Milton Fruit Bowl and many more.
This was the twelfth year that Premier Dance has donated to Mater Little Miracles (previously via Olivia's Lunch). This foundation helps provide the funds necessary for specialised equipment for premature babies in the Neonatal Care Unit of the Mater Hospital. Sayers Dance Centre donated to Youngcare, an organisation which provides suitable accommodation for young people who are disabled or injured and would otherwise need to be housed in an aged care facility.
The Charity Concert is a highlight of the year for the staff, students & families of Premier Dance and they look forward to starting preparations for their 2020 performance.
