Very similar to Creative Dance (see below), it is for children turning 3 years in the year they attend. A parent must participate also.
Designed for kindy and pre-prep children turning 4 years in the year they attend. This class is designed to develop coordination, confidence and a sense of rhythm through movement, music and mime. The main focus is on enjoyment and creativity, not technique. The children will gain a love for dance and music.
For children who are turning 5 years in the year they attend. It has a similar philosophy to Creative Dance with a gentle introduction into classical ballet technique. Focus is on rhythms and dance skills. As with Creative Dance there is still a large emphasis on creativity.
Again this is a similar philosphy to Creative Dance, the focus is on tap and jazz not classical ballet. This class is for children turning 4 or 5 years in the year they attend. Students will require both tap and jazz shoes.
Classes are taught in a free syllabus style where students are taught the latest steps to the latest music. Suited to children from the age of 6 years through to late teens. Jazz is an upbeat modern dance style that promotes fitness, flexibility and a healthy self-esteem.
Our tap classes are a combination of open class work & the TAPATAK OZ syllabus, this is a new syllabus created last year by Christine Denny and is a new program for our school in 2009. Our tap classes are suited to children from the age 6 years through to late teens.
A carefully structured syllabus suitable for boys and girls from the age 5-6 years and upwards. Students are taught the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) syllabus, which is a London based organisation recognised and taught in over 70 countries around the world. Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace and can undertake optional examinations at the end of each grade. Ballet is a disciplined style of dance that develops a student's poise, strength, fitness, expression and coordination as well as promoting self-discipline and self-esteem.
Premier Dance offers its classical ballet students to be apart of the Premier Dance Academy Company. It is a great opportunity for those who love to perform. These classes do require a high level of committment from the dancers and their parents, as attendance at all normal technical lesson and company rehearals are Compulsory. Also we may ask for parent participation with props, costumes etc. The Company students perform at local school fetes and fundraising events. The also present a Mid-Year theatre performance in which the dancers will have an opportunity to be selected for solo roles as wells as participating in group items. Although our main focus comes from classical ballet, during company rehearsals we aim to give the dancers an opportunity to learn other styles of dance by hiring different photographers specialising in other genres.
Contemporary is a free style of dance where moves and choreography are draw from modern stlyles of dance. This class is usually from students with a understanding and knowledge of classical ballet and is for students 10 years and up.
This class involves the latest street dance movements to the latest music. This class is for students 7 yrs and up.
This class involves learning the latest tricks and moves from the Break Dance world. This class is for students studying another form of dance within the school and is on application.
In singing classes, students are taught to develop a safe and correct vocal technique, along with elements of music including rhythm, pitch accuracy, musicality and aural skills. Singing classes are aimed at fostering a love of music from an early age and at building self-confidence and personal musical expression in each student. Classes offered from 6 years of age and upwards.
The combination of two genres complement each other. A fun way to combine singing and dancing whilst helping to improve confidence and rhythm. This class is aimed at 6 yrs and upwards.
This class is for the mature dancer, catering for those who have danced before and those who would like to give ballet a try. This class is classically based and runs like any ballet class with the benefits of stretching and toning.
